We produce accurate and faithful translation. But there is no dictionary published that can tell us what something was called the last time it was referred to in a document that we don't have, or what the intentions were of someone who is not a good writer. So producing a sellable product inevitably involves a dialogue with our client and/or end user of the document.
But there is another dialogue on which we insist. Many clients start off uneasy about surrending control of their corporate image, their message, their marketing outcomes to a translator. Imagine though that you had your own perfectly competent translator, whose task it was to stand behind our translator, questioning their every decision, demanding that they explain their choice of one word over another, and not resting until each of them (always native speakers of source and target language respectively) were completely satisfied that the source had been completely understood, and that the translation was completely accurate and faithful. That is the role of our staff - to be the unforgiving and hypercritical client advocate on every job.
That is how we work at CPT and it is a methodology unique in the industry: we do not charge money to guess. The following clients attest to this.
